The 2009 K2 dealer catalogue marks Noct Bureau’s first project with the K2 in-house design team. For this collaborative effort, our goal was to create a visual platform to facilitate the sales teams product presentation. The plan to base this project around glory shots, stylized product, and a larger than life concept was challenged in one very particular way: we were not provided with a single photo.
The solution was simple: Dig through K2’s extensive archives and select images to crop ensuring the photos would project K2′s snowboarding legacy. Executing a photo driven project without source material refined our ability to concept and draft work both compelling and effective, no matter the circumstance.
Jump forward to 2010 as we continued our relationship with K2. Noct Bureau got back on board to completely transform the aesthetic of the 2010 dealer catalog. The goal was to present a modern look and feel while providing accessibility and product sales. As Catalog Art Director, we completed a full graphic overhaul, redesigned all of the tech icons, implemented a new typography system and a new grid to be used across the years marketing endeavors.
To ensure the project exceeded expectation, Noct Bureau also managed layout, pre-press, and production. Props to Justin Tyler at American Web, Cory Cote, Jered Garrison, Jessie Cote & the whole K2 design team.
